Longhorn IP announced today that Nordic Interactive Technologies LLC (NIT) has filed a patent infringement complaint in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas on January 28, 2020, against Samsung Electronics. The case number is 6:20-CV-00064. The patents at issue relate to state-of-the-art telecommunication technologies.

KATANA SILICON TECHNOLOGIES LLC FILES A COMPLAINT FOR PATENT INFRINGEMENT AGAINST TAIWAN SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING COMPANY (TSMC)

Longhorn IP announced today that Katana Silicon Technologies (KST) has filed a patent infringement complaint in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas on December 6, 2019, against Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). The lawsuit was filed over seven patents and more than fifty claims originating from several world's leading technology companies such as Sharp Corporation, Samsung Electronics and Kioxia Corporation (Former Toshiba Memory Corporation).  The case number is 6:19-cv-00695. The patents relate to state-of-the-art technologies used in the manufacturing and advanced packaging of semiconductor devices.

The National Law Review commented today on the outcome of Lone Star Silicon Innovations v. Nanya Tech. Corp., Case No. 18-1582. Longhorn IP previously reported that The Federal Court vacated the dismissal of the case and remanded for further proceedings consistent with the opinion. Furthermore, OMT is pleased to announce that its patent CN101127587B has now been determined essential to the LTE standard by experts of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). This patent is currently subject to an infringement action against HTC in China.

Longhorn IP announced today that its subsidiary Lone Star Silicon Innovations (LSSI) has filed legal proceedings for patent infringement against STMicrolectronics Inc. and STMicroelectronics N.V. in the Northern District of California on December 19, 2017. LSSI is asserting that three of its semiconductor patents are infringed by the manufacturing and sales of STMicroelectronics products.


LSSI is represented by its legal counsel Fitch, Even, Tabin and Flannery, a Chicago based IP law firm.

LONGHORN IP SUBSIDIARY ACQUIRES PATENT PORTFOLIO ON SMARTPHONE AND WIRELESS TECHNOLOGIES

Longhorn IP announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary Ox Mobile Technologies LLC has acquired a portfolio of patents from a major Chinese telecom equipment and smartphone manufacturer. The portfolio includes assets related to 4G/LTE with worldwide coverage, as well as Chinese assets related to smartphone implementation. Terms of the agreement are confidential.
