Role Description
The Lead Research Scientist – 5G/6G Systems & 3GPP Standards is a full-time, on-site role based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (remote work possible). The individual in this role will conduct cutting-edge research and development in 5G and 6G technologies, contribute to the advancement of 3GPP standards, and develop innovative intellectual property assets. Responsibilities include analyzing emerging wireless communication technologies, driving technical contributions to global standards meetings, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to identify and develop patentable technologies. The role will also involve mentoring junior researchers and scientists, creating technical documentation, and leading projects to successful completion.
Qualifications

Expertise in wireless communication systems, particularly 5G and emerging 6G technologies

Deep understanding of 3GPP standards, including active participation or contributions to standards development

Strong knowledge of signal processing, network architecture, and RF systems

Proficient in research methodologies, patent development, and technical documentation

Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior researchers

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience

Prior experience with patent licensing or IP management is a plus
