Plano, Texas — May 28, 2026 — Katana Silicon Technologies LLC (“Katana”) announced today that it has posted an $8 million bond in connection with ongoing patent enforcement actions. This significant commitment underscores Katana’s determination to vigorously defend its intellectual property rights and ensure that companies using its patented semiconductor technologies do so on fair and lawful terms.

The bond—one of the largest of its kind in recent semiconductor IP litigation—reflects Katana’s confidence in the strength, validity, and importance of its patented inventions. It further reflects Katana’s confidence that its efforts to establish infringement and to negotiate an appropriate license have been in good faith. Katana’s portfolio includes foundational semiconductor process and device technologies originally developed by leading global innovators and now widely used across modern chip manufacturing.

“Posting this bond is more than a procedural step—it is a clear statement of intent,” said Khaled Fekih-Romdhane, the manager of Katana. “We will not allow unauthorized use of our patented technologies to go unchallenged. Katana is committed to protecting the innovations that drive progress in the semiconductor industry.”

Katana Silicon Technologies has built a reputation for technical diligence, principled licensing, and disciplined enforcement. The company previously secured a $9.2 million jury verdict in the Western District of Texas, affirming both the strength of its patents and the credibility of its enforcement program.  The company has also negotiated arms-length licensing agreements with several world-leading technology companies.

By posting the $8 million bond, Katana demonstrates:

• Confidence in its case and the merits of its patented semiconductor technologies

• Financial strength and operational readiness to pursue complex, high-stakes litigation

• Commitment to fair licensing and respect for the innovators who developed the underlying technologies

• Leadership in responsible IP stewardship within the semiconductor ecosystem

Katana’s patents cover critical innovations used in advanced semiconductor fabrication, including device structures, interconnect architectures, and process-level improvements essential to modern chip performance and efficiency.

“Semiconductor innovation depends on strong, enforceable intellectual property rights,” the spokesperson added. “Katana will continue to stand up for those rights—firmly, responsibly, and with the full confidence of our technical and legal teams.”
