Hermes IP Management LLC (“Hermes”), an affiliate of Longhorn IP LLC, announced today that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against TCL TECHNOLOGY GROUP CORPORATION (“TCL”).
The complaint seeks damages and injunctive relief to prevent TCL from making, using, or selling devices that infringe Hermes’ U.S. Patent Nos. 8,855,720, 9,613,060, and 8,537,977 (the “Asserted Patents”). The Asserted Patents cover groundbreaking inventions in user interface design, location sharing, and noise‑cancellation technologies—features Hermes alleges are incorporated across a wide range of TCL mobile devices. The case is docketed as Case No. 2:26‑cv‑00421.
Hermes previously announced its acquisition of patents covering core mobile user‑interface technologies. These innovations are foundational to modern smartphones, tablets, and touchscreen laptops, enabling intuitive interaction and seamless communication across devices.
The patents originated from SK Telecom, South Korea’s largest wireless carrier and a global leader in telecommunications innovation. Hermes’ enforcement of these assets underscores its commitment to protecting and licensing technologies that define the connected mobile experience.
